Two IAF Pilots Dead in Jet Crash Near Churu, Rajasthan
It was just a regular morning in Rajasthan’s Churu district when an IAF Jaguar jet crash shook the skies. Farmers were working in their fields when the sound of impact left everyone stunned.
“I looked up. The jet didn’t sound right. Next second — boom.” That’s how Mahipal Singh describes what he saw.

An Indian Air Force Jaguar fighter aircraft crashed into farmland near Dudhwakhara village in Rajasthan’s Churu district on Tuesday morning. Two pilots were onboard. Both died.
There wasn’t time to save them.
Villagers Fled as IAF Jaguar Jet Crash Ignited Intense Fire
Locals ran to the spot. The jet had split in parts. Some of it was on fire.
“We tried going close, but the heat was burning our skin,” said Reena, a woman who was walking back from a well nearby. “There were no voices. Just metal and smoke.”
The aircraft had taken off from the Phalodi air base. It was flying low. No one knows what went wrong yet. The explosion could be heard miles away.
“The earth shook,” said Ramlal, an elderly farmer. “We thought it was an earthquake.”
IAF Confirms Two Fatalities
By afternoon, the Indian Air Force issued a short statement.
“A Jaguar aircraft crashed during a training sortie. Both pilots onboard lost their lives. A Court of Inquiry has been ordered.”
Officials reached the site soon after. The area was sealed. The wreckage is now under inspection. A black box was recovered and sent for analysis.
Names of the pilots are being withheld till their families are informed.
IAF Jaguar Jet Crash Leaves Villagers in Deep Shock
Children stayed home. Shops remained shut for hours.
“We’ve seen jets fly over many times,” said Gulab, who runs a small tea stall. “But never imagined one would fall here.”
A few villagers lit incense sticks near the crash site by evening. “We didn’t know them, but they died here. This land has their last breath,” one man whispered.
Bigger Questions Now Raised
The Jaguar is an old aircraft. Some in the Air Force say it’s time it retired. Others say it’s still strong with upgrades.
But locals are asking different questions.
“What if it crashed into a school?” said Meera Devi, a mother of two. “We need answers.”
As the Smoke Settles
By nightfall, the smoke had cleared. But the silence stayed.
Two airmen are gone. Their names will be remembered. Their final flight ended in a quiet field in Rajasthan — far from battle, yet in service.
And the villagers of Dudhwakhara? They won’t forget what they saw.
