Delhi Schools Face Wave of Bomb Threats, Police Now Tracking Leads on Dark Web
Delhi – It was supposed to be just another school day. Uniforms ironed, tiffins packed, buses honking. But by 11 AM, sirens were louder than school bells. And children were running out — not for lunch break, but because someone, somewhere, typed four chilling words into an email:
“Bomb inside the school.”
It was the start of what is now being called one of the most widespread Delhi school bomb threats in recent memory — ten schools targeted in just three days.

That one sentence has haunted Delhi’s school children and their families this entire week.
In just three days, 10 schools — from East Delhi to the South, even a few top private institutions — received similar emails. All saying a bomb was planted inside. All forcing police to rush. Children evacuated. Some in socks, some crying.
“I saw my daughter barefoot on the ground. They didn’t even give her time to wear shoes,” said Pooja Sinha, a parent from Rohini. “She kept saying, ‘Maa, school mein bomb?’ I didn’t know what to say.”
The Police Chase Behind the Delhi School Bomb Threats
Delhi Police now say these emails may not have been sent by pranksters. Not this time.
According to a senior investigator from the Cyber Cell, “These weren’t regular Gmail accounts. They came from encrypted servers — hidden IP addresses — almost like someone didn’t want to be found.”
They now believe this could be connected to dark web tools — anonymous platforms where even threat templates can be purchased or shared.
“We can’t call this a joke anymore. It’s deliberate psychological harm to children,” the officer said.
Schools Turn into Fortresses
Following the panic, several schools have increased guards. Some started checking school bags. Entry gates now have sign-in registers even for parents. One school in Vasant Kunj now makes every van driver show ID every day.
But still, fear lingers.
A class 5 student at one school refused to return. His mother says, “He doesn’t want to go back. He keeps asking if the police found the bomb.”
And what did the police find? Nothing. No explosives. No wires. No ticking clocks.
Only scared children. Scared teachers. And a city full of uneasy mornings.
What Happens Now in the Wake of Delhi School Bomb Threats?
No arrests have been made yet. But police have sent a report to central agencies and are collaborating with cybercrime teams.
Teachers are asking for mental health support in schools. Parents are demanding stricter cyber laws. And children — well, they just want to play cricket in peace again during recess.
But with every passing day, the question is the same:
Who is sending these threats, and why target schools?
No clear answer. Only fear. And the sound of school bells, once cheerful, now ringing with hesitation.
