Honeymoon Turns into Murder in Meghalaya, Wife and Boyfriend Arrested

Shillong, June 9 – What began as a honeymoon in the green hills of Meghalaya ended in a nightmare. A young man from another state, recently married, was found dead in East Khasi Hills. Police say his own wife helped plan the murder — with her boyfriend.

The couple had arrived a few days earlier and were staying in a small guesthouse, just like any other tourists. But things took a dark turn on the fourth day, when the husband was found unresponsive. At first, staff thought he had fainted. But by the time help arrived, he was already gone.

According to police, the woman had been speaking secretly with her boyfriend during the trip. “She was in touch with him the whole time,” said one of the investigators. “He was not a stranger to her. In fact, he came to Meghalaya too — and stayed nearby.”

Shocking, yes. But it gets worse.

Police reviewed CCTV footage and found images of the woman and her boyfriend meeting behind the lodge. It wasn’t the first time. “They met more than once. She helped him get access to the area,” the officer added.

The man was hit on the head — that much is clear from the early medical reports. There were also signs that he may have been given something — possibly a sedative. An official postmortem report is still being prepared.

The woman and the boyfriend were arrested on Monday. Locals near the guesthouse said they never imagined anything like this. “They looked like normal newlyweds,” said a worker at the property. “No fights, nothing. It’s scary.”

Police are calling it premeditated murder, and they believe the plan was made before the wedding even took place
